Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA for short, is a partnership between farms and local community members. In the winter, individuals & families purchase a membership in a particular farm (Lacewing Acres, for example ; ) ) and then, in exchange, receive fresh produce throughout the growing season. Sharing in the risk and success of the farm brings non-farming members closer to the realities of growing food in our region, and rewards their on-going support with the tastiest, freshest and most nourishing produce possible.
Several spots are still available for this spring’s CSA. Learn more here.
After 3 years of vending at the Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market, we decided in 2016 to focus on our CSA and some wholesale growing. We miss seeing you each week, but hope you’ll stay up with the happenings at the farm through Facebook and/or our website!
